Pharmacy Workers
Pharmacy Workers – Forward Together.
Pharmacy workers play a vital role in keeping health services safe, effective, and accessible. Whether working in hospitals, community pharmacy, specialist services, or technical roles, we carry significant responsibility for medicine safety, patient care, and the smooth running of the wider health system.
Unionising gives us the collective strength to improve pay, protect conditions, and have a stronger voice on the issues that affect our work. From staffing and workload to professional recognition and safe practice, these are not issues we should have to face alone.
APEX is the natural home for pharmacy workers, as our divisional structure means we are part of a strong wider union, while still having representation that understands our profession, and the specific pressures we face.
Currently APEX negotiates and enforces agreements covering pharmacy workers at Te Whatu Ora in ten districts, with a specific clause allowing further districts to be added to the coverage by agreement between the parties.
We also have a separate agreement covering Clinical Pharmacist Facilitators working for Te Whatu Ora in the Hawke’s Bay.
If you are a pharmacy worker and want to know more about union membership, find your nearest APEX delegate below, or get in touch directly with your Pharmacy Workers advocate.
